August is cranking up the heat this summer with shows settling in and trailers dropping. So let’s talk about what's creeping up on the calendar.
First up:
I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince Second Season is in full swing. This is a show that I slept on for the first season but when I finally started watching it I was not disappointed. Before I knew it I was caught up on season 2. If you have not watched then you should especially if you like an easy to watch story. The drawbacks to it is that so far there really are no areas where the MC encounters anything that I would consider to be a hardship.
Reincarnated as a Vending Machine is a show that I started when it came out and then I ended up dropping it after the first couple of episodes. But thanks to Major Montana from our Discord. And it is one that I am glad I picked back up. It is an interesting watch to say the least in that the main characters really has to rely on others. If you are looking for something deep and thought provoking or action packed with an OP main character then this will not be for you. If you are looking for goofy fun then this will be for you.
So what’s coming soon?
The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife - In general this is about an Invisible gentleman detective, who has a mild-mannered coworker who can always find him, namely because I think she does not rely on sight as it appears that she is blind which gives her a 1 up anyway, This looks like it is going to be a slow burn romance that I hope will feel soft instead of gimmicky. Currently it’s set to come out in 2026 and the studio is Project 9.
My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s - This show starts off with a class getting isekai’d and everyone else is granted cheat abilities while our Main is given the status of assassin with mediocre abilities. And then following the usual trend of getting OP that is exactly what he does only then falsely be accused and then forced to flee. With the studio being Sunrise I can’t help but get my hopes up and the animation to me kind of has a nostalgic feel a little bit. Currently it is set to come out in October 2025.
The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King - Starts off like a grim prisoner drama, and judging from the trailer and synopsis it actually pivots rather quickly to a romance comedy. Big barbarian with big energy, in a good way, meets stubborn knightly pride. I’m expecting an endearing story with great writing on this one. Currently set to come out in October 2025 and the studio is Jumondo.
Behind the Mic:
The next podcast episode is about “Am I Actually the Strongest?” which was a recommendation from Jeb. And it was one that I have seen before. But It will be a nice revisit. If you have not seen it then I personally feel like you are not missing out on much as it is a short but forgettable story.
We also just talked about “The Executioner and Her Way of Life”, which is an interesting take on the Isekai Genre so if you are in for an interesting story be sure to check it out.
Be sure to check out our episode as well.
